SINCE 2004

Since 2004, Arizona State University has been a global
leader in sustainability. The establishment of the Julie
Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory at the university
marked a key step forward in this direction, reflecting
a deep conviction that we can – and must – contribute
meaningfully to building a future where all life on Earth
can thrive.
The Global Futures Laboratory is a prototype of the
university of the future for our planet. It provides a
platform capable of addressing the complex social,
economic, and scientific challenges that arise from
current and future environmental degradation.
To build a thriving future, we must rethink our
relationship with the planet. This requires a unifying,
forward–looking mission that brings us together to create
sustainable and lasting solutions.
