CAPS Unlock is an independent think tank based in Almaty, Kazakhstan
– dedicated to advancing policy solutions for Central Asia’s most
pressing challenges.
These cards amplify the voices of young people across the region.
Their art and words reveal a stark truth: climate change and
ecological collapse threaten water, energy, food, biodiversity –
and ultimately, human survival. These crises transcend national
borders – they demand collaborative action and systemic change.
Education is an essential part of the solution: CAPS Unlock calls for
mandatory and integrated climate and ecology education to equip the
next generation with the knowledge, skills, and determination to restore
ecosystems, safeguard the environment, and build societies that thrive
in balance with nature.
The message from Central Asia’s youth is clear: life on Earth will either
flourish together – or perish together. The time to act is now.
